  • Nancy G. Rideout

    Nancy G Rideout, a native of Dartmouth, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Saint University in 1978 and a Bachelor of Laws from Dalhousie University in 1981. She was admitted to the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society in December 1981.

     

  • Bruce V. McLaughlin

    Bruce V. McLaughlin, a native of Riverview, New Brunswick, graduated from Dalhousie University in 1983 with a both a Masters in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Laws.

  • Peter Rumscheidt

    Peter graduated from Dalhousie University with a BA with honours in 1987, and from Dalhousie Law School in 1990.  He was admitted to the Nova Scotia bar in 1991. Peter joined Weldon McInnis in June, 2015.

  • Matthew J.D. Moir

    Matthew was admitted to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2002 and has since practiced law at Weldon McInnis. He represents clients in real estate transactions, corporate and commercial transactions, and litigation.

  • Ronan W. Holland

    Ronan W. Holland joined the firm in 2003 following a successful career as a lawyer in Ireland. Mr. Holland practices in the areas of civil litigation and personal injury law.

  • Anthony Nicholson

    Born and raised in Halifax County, Anthony graduated from Saint Mary’s before pursuing law at Dalhousie. He has always practiced in the city, most recently under the Trider-Nicholson (Sam Lane Law Inc.) banner.

  • F. Alex Embree

    Alex joined Weldon McInnis after being called to the bar in October 2006. He practices general litigation, with a focus on criminal and family law. Alex holds a Bachelor of Arts in history from McGill University and a Bachelor of Laws from Dalhousie University.

  • Andrew Trider

    Andrew grew up in Dartmouth and was called to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2007 after attending Dalhousie Law School.  He joined Weldon McInnis in 2014 after operating his own firm in Downtown Dartmouth.

  • Nicole M. Power

    Nicole holds a Bachelor of Arts from Dalhousie University and a Juris Doctor from the Schulich School of Law. Following the completion of her articles at Weldon McInnis and being admitted to the Nova Scotia Bar, Nicole joined the firm as an associate in June 2018.

  • David R. Melvin

    David grew up in the Woodlawn area of Dartmouth. After completing an Honours undergraduate degree in Political Science and History at Dalhousie University, he obtained a combined Bachelor of Law degree and Master of Public Administration degree from Dalhousie. Since his call to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2005, he has practiced in downtown Dartmouth. He joined Weldon McInnis in 2019.

  • Daniel S. Walker

    Daniel graduated from Dalhousie University with a BA in 1980 and an LLB in 1983.  He was admitted to the Nova Scotia bar in 1984. Daniel joined Weldon McInnis in February, 2020.  Daniel practises primarily in the areas of family law and probate & estate planning.

  • Jessica Rose

    Jessica holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia and a Juris Doctor from the Schulich School of Law. After articling with a prominent local firm and holding an associate position at Dumke Law on the South Shore, Jessica joined the firm as an associate in November 2020.

  • Micaela Sheppard

    A native of Halifax, Micaela received her Bachelor of Arts in International Development Studies from the University of King’s College. She returned to Dalhousie University where she received her Juris Doctor from the Schulich School of Law. Micaela articled in Halifax and more recently, she worked as a law clerk at the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia, doing legal research for judges across the province. She joined us at Weldon McInnis in May 2021.

  • Keith MacMaster

    Keith MacMaster, a proud Cape Bretoner, obtained his Bachelor of Laws from Dalhousie University in 2003, his MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western University in 2007, and will be receiving his Doctorate in Laws (PhD) in 2024.  He has practiced law in Nova Scotia and Ontario and has also been a licensed financial planner, working for law firms and financial institutions.  Keith joined Weldon McInnis in 2023, after completing his doctoral dissertation.
