Daniel has practised primarily in the area of family law since 1984, shepherding his clients through what can be a difficult time of conflict. He is qualified in collaborative family law but also represents clients in contested proceedings in all courts in Nova Scotia.

Since 2020 Daniel has been peer-selected for inclusion in Best Lawyers™ in family law in Canada.

Daniel has served on the executive of the Nova Scotia Association of Collaborative Family Law Professionals and as chair of the Family Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association, Nova Scotia branch.

Daniel’s practice also includes estate planning and probate matters.

Originally from New Brunswick, Daniel moved to Halifax in 1977 to take up studies at Dalhousie University. He has continued to make Nova Scotia his home, practising with firms in both Halifax and Dartmouth.

As an active member of the community serving on various boards and committees, and having also served as a part-time lecturer at Saint Mary’s University, Daniel understands the pressures of juggling a multitude of responsibilities.
