Bruce V. McLaughlin, a native of Riverview, New Brunswick, graduated from Dalhousie University in 1983 with both a Masters in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Laws. He was admitted to the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society in 1984 and has practiced in Dartmouth since that time. Mr. McLaughlin joined Weldon McInnis in 2004. His years of experience and specialized knowledge make him an invaluable asset to the firm and our clients.

His preferred areas of practice include commercial transactions, residential real estate, technology law and Intellectual Property. Mr. McLaughlin was appointed a Justice of the Peace in 2002, and continues to act in that capacity.

Mr. McLaughlin has experience in the use of PC based applications software. He lectures on software copyright, data security and related computer law issues. Mr. McLaughlin served in the very demanding position of Chair of the Capital Health Authority for 4 years from 2001-2005. He has also been a member of the Canadian Information Professional Society and Law Office Management Subsection of the Canadian Bar Association.

Bruce has a passion for basketball. His love of the game and his natural ability to teach have combined to make him an excellent coach. He was a founding member of the Dartmouth Minor Basketball Association and has been the President of the Halifax-Dartmouth Minor Basketball Association since 2001.
